The beginning of my favorite month!

Today is very important. First of all because it is my darling sister's 19th birthday, and secondly because it is the first day of my absolute favorite month. The weather this week has been the perfect welcome to October with a chill in the air and gray skies looming overhead. Here are some of my favorite pictures from last fall.

Also I have started designing a small collection this week and will post pictures of the sketches sometime in the next couple days. I wanted to dedicate part of this post to one of the most amazing young designers, Gareth Pugh. If you haven't seen his Spring 2010 collection then you are missing out on one of the best shows yet. Although I am holding out for the rest of the Paris fashion shows this may be my favorite so far.





Seriously..... SO AMAZING!! I am totally and completely in love. LOVE!

Autumn has arrived

I realized this morning that it is officially fall. Not only was there a cooler breeze than normal blowing through my bedroom but when you look outside there are leaves starting to collect in little piles on the sidewalks... Not only is the changing of the seasons exciting for obvious reasons such as Halloween, perfect weather, the colorful leaves, but also for fall clothing! It is by far the best time of year to dress, which has got me thinking of layers, lots and lots of layers....

As excited as I am for the season change it is always hard to say goodbye to summer. No more sitting on the fire escape eating popsicles and warm sunny afternoons browsing the outdoor flea markets. At least the end of summer my summer was lovely. Lots of visits from loved ones and park adventures. This is one of my last summer outfits. Note that those legs will be bare no more. From this point on knit tights will be a crucial part of dressing. crucial.

the scoop

Hey kids. Here's the scoop------I created this blog as a documentation of my journey living and working in the fashion industry while also trying to get something up and running on my own. Since I am currently working full time as design assistant I will only have time for smaller projects for now, at least until I decide I can live on only a few hours of sleep again. Most of my work will soon be available on my ebay store, and potentially some smaller shops around Brooklyn. I will be posting mostly images for inspiration, styling, sale events and anything else that seems to pop up along the way. Oh, and I am sure that my unhealthy magazine and polaroid collection will show up on here more often then I would like to admit.

But anyways for now here is an all time favorite video of mine. I have never wanted to be a ballerina so badly especially a Chanel ballerina.
